Event Rules:
- All classes are open to anyone from any county or state.
- Drivers/Crew Members must be 18 years old or 16 years old with signed consent by a parent or legal guardian. If requested, photo ID must be provided as proof of age.
- The driver and only one crew member will be admitted to the Fair at no charge and will be the only ones permitted into the pit/pulling area. Those individuals will be given a wristband when they enter their event. Wristbands must be worn at all times and will be your pass to get into the pit/pulling area. Anyone without a wristband and will NOT be permitted.
- Individuals wishing to purchase the additional wristband may only do so if they 16 years of age or older (under 18 requires parent/guardian signature) and has signed a liability waiver. This wristband does not include entry into the Fair, each person must have purchased a Fair entry wristband at the gate before they will be permitted to purchase a pit/pulling area wristband.
- All drivers and crew members must sign a release of liability waiver in order to enter the pit/pulling area. Absolutely no one under 16 years of age will be permitted. If requested, photo ID must be provided as proof of age.
- Competitors should be on the grounds at least two (2) hours before their pulling time, tech inspection area will close one hour prior to the scheduled start of the event.
- All drivers must attend a driver’s meeting held ½ hour before the event begins.
- Competitors and crew members will observe their class rules as well as the event rules.
- Tractors and trucks must be removed from the grounds the night of the pull.
- All competitors must wear a sleeved shirt, pants, and shoes.
- One hook per class unless you’re the first puller. First puller may drop their first hook and pull last, but they must keep that one.
- Registration for each event will close one hour after the scheduled start time.
- Once a class begins, no additional entries will be accepted for that class.
- Once an entry is made, no refunds will be issued regardless of the reason for scratching.
- Any harassment towards staff or officials will result in disqualification and loss of entry fee and prize money.
- Tech inspectors and Judges decisions are final.
- It is understood that the Wyoming County Fair will not be responsible for any breakage or damage incurred to any equipment.
- Disclaimer: ANY DRIVER ARGUING WITH TRACK OFFICIALS OR TECH OFFICIALS WILL IMMEDIATELY BE DISQUALIFIED AND ASKED TO LEAVE THE GROUNDS. ALL DECISIONS ARE FINAL!
Competitor Conduct:
- Pulling vehicles must be operated in a safe manner at all times.
- The operator must retain seat during the pull and must have complete control of the vehicle at all times.
- Only the driver will be allowed on a vehicle when it is being towed. NO RIDERS.
- If any driver or any of his/her crew is incapacitated due to intoxication or drugs, his/her truck or tractor will be disqualified, and they will forfeit entry fees and prize money.
Protest Rule:
The contestant must sign a protest form and submit $200 in cash to the competition director along with the reason for the protest before the protest can be discussed with the competition director. The protest will be reviewed by the rules committee. If the vehicle or contestant have been found to be valid and there was a violation of the rules the deposit will be returned to the person who filed the protest. If the protest was not valid and there was no violation of the rules the deposit will go to the Fair.
Class Rules:
Antique Tractors (5, 000; 5,500; 6,500; 7,500; 8,500):
- Pull is open to pre-1966 agricultural tractors.
- Gasoline, Diesel, Kerosene, and Propane powered engines only.
- Engine must be stock with stock fuel system and stock style ignition.
- No turbos (unless the model was factory equipped with a turbo).
- No cut tires.
- Drawbar must be stationary in all directions. 20 inch maximum height and 18 inch minimum length from the center of the rear axle. Drawbar must be equipped with a 3 inch opening.
- All classes will have a 3.5 MPH pace tractor.
- Add-on weights are allowed. They must not extend more than 11 feet from the center of the rear axle to the farthest point forward and must not extend rearward beyond the tires.
- Tractors equipped with steel wheels will pull at the end of the class.
- Maximum tire size allowed: 8,500 lbs. and 7,500 lbs. – 18 inches
Turbo Tractors (11,000 & 13,000):
- Tractors must be stock block agricultural with no visual engine modification except air cleaners. No cubic limit. Engine must be original type or factory replacement. All turbo chargers must be under the hood. Original style hood and grill must be in place. No electric fuel pump unless stock factory equipment. Starter must be in place. Fenders must be present on all 1957 and newer tractors.
- All exhaust must:
- Discharge upward with a minimum pipe length of 18 inches from hood line or use a muffler. If a curved pipe is used it must discharge forward unless it is stock factory equipped and does not allow it to be turned.
- Be a factory under-slung exhaust system in working condition.
- No water injection. No intercoolers and turbo chargers allowed unless original factory equipment for the make and model entered in the 9,000 lb. class. Any 3” turbo allowed in the 11,000 lb. and 13,000 lb. classes. Inside turbo must be stock for make and model of turbo. A 3” turbo is defined as a turbo with a maximum of a 3” outside measurement on the position of the turbo charger on the intake side of the turbo charger where intake hose would fasten over the housing of the turbo charger. The housing where the intake tube, if used, fits over must be stock for that make and model of turbo charger and cannot be machined down to 3” measurement. No nitrous or added propane fuel allowed.
- Weight classes and the maximum tire width for each are as follows:
- 9,000 lbs. – 18.4” x 38”; 20.8” x 38”; or 23.1” x 30”
- 11,000 lbs. & 13,000 lbs. – 24.5”
- Note – Rim width may not be wider than the tire being used.
- Contest is open to two (2) wheel drive tractors with rubber tires. No sharpened tires, dual tires, tire studs, or chains permitted. Four (4) wheel drive tractors allowed if the front wheels are disengaged.
- Draw bar is to be stationary in all directions with not more than an inch of movement in any one direction. Maximum height of draw bar is 20 inches for all classes. Draw bar must be equipped with a steel hitch in device not more than 1 inch thick and a minimum of 3” x 3-3/4” diameter opening. Cross sectional thickness must be 7/8” minimum. Pulling point may not be more than 1 ½ inches from back edge of hitching device. Complete factory setup is suggested. No quick hitch type adaptors allowed.
- No portion of tractor or ballast may interfere with the sled or sled hitch during the pull.
- All weight frame and weights must be stationary and safely secured to the tractor and must not extend beyond the rear tires. No weight may be located in a position which could hinder safe operation of the tractor. No ballast on tractor seat/deck. No weight or bracket may exceed in width 12 inches beyond the tires. Any ballast or external parts lost while hooked to the sled will be cause for disqualification. No weights to be closer than 8 inches to draw bar hook point.
- All tractors must have rear wheel brakes in working condition.
- RPMs will be limited to 3,000. This will be checked before the tractor is allowed to pull. They can also be checked after the pull at the end of the track. If during a check of RPMs the tractor exceeds maximum allowed that tractor will be disqualified and all purse monies, if any won, will be forfeited. During a pull the governor must be in working condition and must not allow engine to exceed maximum RPMs under load.
- Any rotating PTO shaft that cannot be stopped by the driver’s hand must be shielded.
- All stock tractors will be checked to make sure they are stock.
- The use of torque converters, automatic shifts, etc. will be permitted on original factory equipment for make and model being entered. No slip clutches.
- The judge will verify class entered; their decision is final.
11,000 Open:
- No 4 wheel drive, no dual tires allowed. No RMP limit.
- Cut tires allowed. Maximum tire size is 30.5” x 32”.
- Hitching device must have a 3” x 3 ¾” hole. Drawbar must be a minimum of 1” thick around the opening. Drawbar height is 20 inches.
- If tractor is equipped with a roll cage and harness the driver must wear a fire suit. (Fire suits are highly recommended for all drivers.) All drivers must wear a DOT approved helmet.
- Tractor must have the following safety equipment: fenders, side shield to cover engine block, working approved fire extinguisher, working kill switch, dead man’s throttle (should have 2 springs on linkage), steel flywheel, scatter blanket (must cover flywheel) and automatic transmission must cover torque converter.
- Wheelie bar specifications are: pads on bottom of bars to be 5” square minimum, must be a minimum of 32” rearward from the center of the rear-end housing, maximum of 10” high. Do not connect hitches and wheelie bars. Outside to outside pads to be a minimum of 20” width, bars must support weight of tractor for weight class.
- Neutral starter switch, all exhaust must exit upwards, all driveline parts must be shielded, seat belts are required, and rollover protection highly recommended.
- The judge will verify class entered, their decision is final.
11,000 Hot Farm:
- Tractors must be stock block agricultural tractors. Engine must be original type or factory replacement for make and model. OEM stock type head for that model or series of engine. OEM stock type intake for that series engine. Tractors are allowed to run a tube type header exhaust. Alterations for mounting of fuel pump allowed. Tractors are allowed to use electric fuel pumps. All turbochargers must be under hood. Original style grill an hoods must be in place. All wheels must be in place. All tractors must have fenders in place. All tractors must have rear wheel brakes in working condition. All exhaust must discharge upward with a minimum pipe length of 18” from the hood line. Gas powered tractors must use only one updraft carburetor. No fuel injection on gas powered tractors. All tractors must use fuel that engine was designed for.
- All chassis components must be steel, NO ALUMINUM CHASSIS PARTS (i.e. rear housing, final drive housing, transmission, frame rails)
- NO ALCOHOL, NO PROPANE, NO NITROUS OXIDE.
- Fuel system allowed will be an A pump or P pump with 1 plunger per cylinder. All tractors must be equipped with a 3 way dump valve that must be installed ahead of the injection pump.
- Intercoolers/Aftercoolers and water injection allowed.
- All fans must be shrouded 360 degrees with minimum 1/16” steel. Electric fans allowed.
- Maximum engine displacement of 540 cubic inches.
- All tractors will be required to have:
- Scatter Blanket (must cover flywheel)
- A 3/8” diameter cable around the first and second cylinders on the engine. Cable should have 4”-6” of play and have 2 clamps at any splice.
- Exhaust pipe must be cross-bolted with two 3/8” grade five bolts within 1” of each other. Note: Any tractor using a stock cast exhaust manifold, only 2 cross bolts are required in the vertical portion on the exhaust. If a tubular exhaust manifold is being used two sets of cross bolts are required. One set of bolts mounted in the horizontal portion on the pipe right outside the turbine housing. The second set of bolts must be mounted in the vertical portion of the exhaust.
- Side Shields
- Safety tie bars mounted to the rear axle housing with at least 4 axle housing bolts and fasten to the side of the block or mainframe with at least two 5/8” bolts. A one-piece frame that extends form the front of the tractor to the rear end housing may be used.
- All tractors must have stabilizer bars to be constructed as follows: 1) Pads on bottom of bars to be a minimum of 5” sq. 2) Pads to be a minimum of 32” rearward from the center of the rear-end housing. 3) Maximum of 10” off the ground. 4) Outside to outside width of pads to be a minimum of 20”. 5) Wheelie bars and drawbars should not be connected in any way. 6) Bars must support weight of tractor for weight class being pulled.
- Must have a wide front end.
- Must have a steel flywheel.
- A roll cage or roll bar able to withstand the weight of the tractor.
- The use of torque converters, automatic shifts, etc. will be permitted on original factory equipment for that make and model.
- Centrifugal style slipper clutches allowed.
- Turbochargers: Maximum of one turbocharger with a maximum measurement of 3” at the intake wheel and 3” at the exhaust wheel. 3 x 3 small base turbochargers only. No welding or altering turbo base to accommodate smaller bolt pattern on a larger bolt pattern turbo. Alterations for mounting of turbo allowed. Any tractor with a plastic or fiberglass hood must have the turbocharger shielded by .060” steel.
- All drawbars are to be stationary in all directions. Maximum height of drawbar is 20”. Length of drawbar to be no less than 18” from center of rear axle. Drawbar must be equipped with a steel-hitching device 1” think with a 3” diameter hole. Cross sectional thickness must be 7/8” minimum. Pulling point may not be more than 1 ¼” from the back edge of the hitching device. It is suggested to fasten hitching device with one 7/8” or two 5/8” grade 5 or higher bolt(s). No top bracing except for complete factory setup. No quick hitch type adaptors allowed on tractors.
- No portion of tractor or ballast may interfere with sled or hitching device during pull.
- No weight frame or weights may extend more than 24” beyond the most forward point of the tractor. All weight frames and weights must be stationary and safely secured to tractor, and must not extend beyond rear tires. No weights may be located in a position that could hinder safe operation of the tractor, or endanger the driver. No ballast on tractor seat or deck. No weights may exceed in width 12” beyond the tires. No weights or brackets to be any closer than 8” to the draw bar hook point. Any ballast lost during a pull will result in disqualification.
- All tractors must be equipped with a safety kill switch. Diesel tractors must have a working air shutoff. Any tractor with an electric fuel pump, the kill switch must be tied to the air shut off. The shut off must be within reach when the driver is wearing their seat belt or harness. The air shut off cable must have a minimum 2” diameter solid ring with a minimum 1/8” cross section thickness attached to it which must be unobstructed and easily hooked form sled. Kill switch must also be able to be operated manually by the operator from the seat of the tractor while wearing their seat belt or harness.
- Front skid bars required.
- All tractors must be equipped with a dead man’s throttle.
- All tractors must be equipped with a working/charged 2.5 lb. fire extinguisher.
- All tractors must be equipped with a seatbelt or a 5 point harness, and must be worn during the pull.
- Drivers must wear a DOT approved helmet and fire jacket/suit.
- All tractors must be inspected before then can pull. Top three tractors are subject to re-inspection following the completion of the class.
8,500/9,300 Mod. Turbo/Super Farm Tractors:
- Weight: Mod. Turbo Tractors: 8,500 lbs. Super Farm Tractors: 9,300 lbs.
- Tires: Maximum tire size is 24.5”. Double cut tires are permitted.
- All tractors are required to have the following approved safety equipment:
- Drivers are required to wear a DOT approved helmet and fire suit.
- Approved blanket or blow proof bell-housing required. Blanket must be of sufficient size and length to completely cover the “rear most part” of the bell housing.
- Clutch must be a high-performance type. Absolutely NO cast iron components allowed.
- ROPS style roll over protection is required.
- A five point harness is required.
- Approved kill switch is required. (See # 16 in 11,000 Enhanced Rules)
- Wheelie bars must support the weight of the tractor.
- All tractors must have side shields.
- All tractors must have fenders.
- The use of front “skid plates” is recommended.
- All tractors should have a “T” valve/petcock installed on the return line from the pump. This must be located as close as possible to the injection pump and will be used to obtain a fuel sample if need be.
- Mod. Turbo Tractors:
- 540 cubic inch maximum
- No overhead cams, component rear ends, aluminum heads, or intercoolers.
- Must use an OEM style cast head and block. No billet or aluminum. OEM style head for the series of engine used is required. OPTION: A re-cast head/block may be used but must remain within ½” of factory dimension specifications for the OEM head. No billet or aluminum recast heads/blocks.
- Diesel is the only approved fuel – use of alcohol is strictly prohibited in either the fuel or water injection. Each tractor is subject to both fuel and water sampling. Failure to submit to immediate testing when requested will result in disqualification and forfeiture of any premium money earned.
- Pressurized containers for fuel are not permitted.
- All tech inspections will occur on the ground, not on the trailer, unless necessitated by inclement weather.
- Tractors are allowed a single (1) turbo charger with any manifold modifications necessary to the mount. Manifold pressure may be single stage only.
- Legality of the injector pump by officials is based on the visual inspection of the outside housing and not the inner workings of the injector pump.
- “A” Pump: Only one plunger per cylinder and one injector per cylinder are permitted. All “A” pumps must be derived from the German Bosch design. Pumps must maintain stock dimensions. Fuel pumps may not be girdled.
- No sigma pumps or MW pumps are permitted,
- Super Farm Tractors:
- 640 cubic inch maximum.
- No overhead cams, component rear ends, aluminum heads, or intercoolers permitted.
- Must use an OEM style cast head and block. No billet or aluminum. OEM style stock head for the series of engine used is required. OPTION: A re-cast head/block may be used but must remain within ½” of factory dimension specifications for the OEM head. No billet or aluminum recast heads/blocks.
- Intake will be limited to a maximum O.D. size of 3.75” measured at the manifold attachment point with one inlet pipe only.
- Diesel is the only approved fuel – use of alcohol is strictly prohibited in either the fuel or water injection. Each tractor is subject to both fuel and water sampling. Failure to submit to immediate testing when requested will result in disqualification and forfeiture of any premium money earned.
- Turbo housing may not be altered to accommodate a smaller foot or base. Such as a T18 with a smaller foot or base welded to it.
- All tech inspections will occur on the ground, not on the trailer, unless necessitated by inclement weather.
- Exhaust housing bolt pattern shall be no larger than 2.75 x 3.5 inches.
- Tech officials reserve the right to refuse any turbo charger that is in question based on the above specifications.
- P-Pump with 1 plunger per cylinder. No sigma pumps or MW pumps are permitted. Pumps must maintain stock dimensions. Fuel pumps may not be girdled.
- Intake: Intake housing to be no larger than 3” at the face of the wheel. Compressor wheel tips must protrude into 3” bore. Map width enhancement of .200” maximum is permitted. Must be in OEM location. All air flow must go through the turbo intake and map ring, no other air flow will be permitted. i.e. Drilled holes around the turbo intake.
- Exhaust: Turbine wheel to be no less than 2.90” in diameter at intersection of turbine wheel face and tip diameter. Turbine housing to be no larger than 3” at intersection of turbine wheel face and tip diameter. All turbine wheel blades to protrude 1/8” into 3” bore. All air must exit through 3” opening. Exhaust housing will be measured at intersection of turbine wheel face and tip diameter. No waste gates permitted. No variable geometric turbo charger permitted.
