Registration:
1. Eligibility – Only registered animals may be shown in the Fullblood and Percentage Divisions in the Open Meat Goat Show. All meat goats must be registered in the herd-book of a recognized association before the date of the show. Recognized associations include ABGA, USBGA, American Kiko Goat Association, and the Canadian Boer Goat Association. Non-registered meat goats may be shown in the Crossbreed Division.

Classes:
1. Meat goats must be registered as fullbloods or purebred meat goats to show in fullblood/purebred classes. Percentage meat goats must have papers listing the animal as a percentage meat goat to show in percentage classes. All non-papered animals will show in crossbred classes.
A. Divisions will be defined as follows:
I. Crossbred Does (unregistered meat type does)
II. Percentage Does 50% to 88 %
III. Fullblood/Purebred Does 94% and higher
IV. Fullblood/Purebred Bucks 97% and higher (Bucks 96.86% and lower are not eligible to be shown.)
B. Premiums: A minimum of six (6) animals per breed/division entered will qualify for 100% of the listed premiums. Less than 6 animals per breed/division will be 50% of listed premiums.
2. All entries must be accompanied with a copy of the animals registration papers. (Excluding non-registered and crossbreeds.)
3. An animal may show in one division/section only. Meat breeding does cannot show in the market goat division and vice versa. You may not cross enter an animal into different divisions.
4. An exhibitor shall be limited to two entries in any one class.
5. Entry fee is $5.00 per animal per class. Showmanship is $5.00 per class. Entries close August 8th.
6. Classes will be placed 1st through 5th place and rosettes awarded to division champions and reserve champions. Overall champions will receive an award.
7. Kids less than 3 months of age can be shown with a copy of a registration applications, stamped with the date received by one of the approved breed associations. Exhibitors of animals over 3 months of age must have the original registration certificate in hand at the time of the show.
8. Market goat classes are open to all exhibitors. Classes will be determined by the market goat weight. Weigh-in will be Tuesday upon arrival.
9. The Wyoming County Fair and their members will not be responsible for any accident of any kind or nature that may occur to any animal, person or property. The exhibitors and spectators shall hold them harmless and indemnify them against any legal proceeding arising from any accident and/or damage. By submitting entries to the Wyoming County Fair you agree to abide by these rules as well as any rules posted before or during the Fair.

Required Identification:
- Individual official animal identification is required for all goats. Official ID includes:
- A USDA ear tag with a US shield; which includes scrapie program tags (animals bearing identification with blue colored scrapie program tags labelled “meat” with a US shield are not permitted to be exhibited in PA – please call the Department at 717-783-6851 if such tag is encountered); or
- A legible tattoo with herd and individual identification recognized in an approved USDA Scrapie database a.k.a scrapie tattoo (flock ID in the right ear--state postal code and letters/numbers--and individual animal ID in the left ear); or
- A breed registration tattoo if the animal is accompanied by a registration certificate and the tattoo is legible.
- Identification used for goats must be permanently affixed to the individual animal.
- Re-tattoos are acceptable when said tattoo matches the legible digits of the original tattoo, is in the same ear as the original tattoo and an appropriate notification appears on the animal’s registration certificate.
- Ages will be determined by the birth date on the registration certificate and calculated to September 1st of the current year.
General:
1. Animals with natural horns, disbudded or dehorned may be shown without regards to discrimination.
2. Any meat breeding doe over 24 months of age that has not kidded shall not be allowed to show.
3. Note: We are adhering to the USDSA regulations that no doe who has kidded within one month of the show date will be entered in the show or allowed at the show. Also, no doe within one month of kidding is to be at the show.
4. Market goats will be mouthed and must have a full set of kid teeth.
5. Exhibitors can start arriving at 3:00 PM on Tuesday and must be in place by 7:00 PM. Goats can depart Monday, Labor Day, at 6:00 PM. Pens must be cleaned before departure or premiums will be withheld.
6. Exhibitors shall be responsible for all the security, safety, and care of their animals.
7. Pens will be assigned. Pen space is approximately 4’x6’. Tack pens will be assigned if pen space is available and will be limited to one per exhibitor.

Pennsylvania Goat Requirements:
- A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued after May 1st of the current year.
- All animals must be free of evidence infectious and contagious diseases and a statement of this should be written on the CVI.
- Federal regulation (USDA) require a Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued within 30 days prior to the date of importation.
- Vesicular Stomatitis (VS): This applies to states that experienced a VS outbreak in the last 12 months. In these cases an accredited veterinarian shall determine whether the animals are free from VS, and animals shall be accompanied by a CVI with the following statement signed by the accredited veterinarian: “All animals identified on this certificate of veterinary inspection have been examined and found to be free from VS. During the past 90 days, these animals were not located within 10 miles of a site where VS has been diagnosed.”
- All animals must be free of evidence of infectious and contagious diseases and a statement of this is required on the CVI.
- Tuberculosis testing requirements:
- No test is required for animals originating from states or zones designated as accredited-free by the USDA.
- All animals originating from states or zones designated modified accredited advanced by the USDA must be test negative within the 60 days prior to the date of importation. The negative test results and date of test must be included on the CVI or the animal must be accompanied by a negative test report (a copy of the original test report is acceptable).
- All animals originating from states or zones designated modified accredited must originate from herds in which all animals 12 months of age and older have tested negative within the 12 months prior to the date of importation; and the individual animals (all ages) to be imported have also tested negative within the 60 days prior to the date of importation and at least 60 days after the negative whole herd test was completed. The negative test results and date of test must be included on the CVI or the animal must be accompanied by a negative test report (a copy of the original test report is acceptable).
