DEPARTMENT 11 - SECTION 970 & 971

Rules:
- Read the premium material for Department 18 very carefully. Follow all rules and regulations.
- The entry fee schedule is printed on the entry form. The correct fee MUST accompany the entry form. Entries are due August 8th.
- All entries must be brought to the Fairgrounds, the Monday before the Fair between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Entries must be removed from the Fairgrounds the Tuesday after the Fair between 3:00 PM and 8:00 PM. Claim tickets must be presented to pick up entries and to claim premium checks.
- Only one item per exhibitor for each class number will be accepted.
- For clothing, each exhibit will consist of one garment, unless marked as a “set”.
- Each exhibit will be judged on workmanship, worth of article, appropriateness of material and design. Item must fit category and size.
- We will NOT ACCEPT any entry with nudity, violence, disturbing or inappropriate material.
- The basis for judging household and needlework exhibits will be:
- Plain Sewing:
- Worth of article
- Materials and trimmings – appropriateness and quality
- Workmanship – method of construction, choice and execution of stitches
- Dressmaking:
- Material – appropriateness, quality, color, and design
- Design – simplicity of line, harmony of color, appropriateness
- Workmanship – method of construction, choice and execution of stitches
- Embroidery & Crocheting:
- Worth of article
- Material – appropriateness and suitability of use for which it was made
- Design – simplicity and appropriateness
- Workmanship
- Knitting:
- Worth of article
- Workmanship – execution of stitches, perfection
- Plain Sewing:
- For crocheted or knitted items that lay on the table, please provide a piece of contrasting fabric to display it on so the pattern can be seen.
- All articles must be laundered and clean, free of fur and have no stains.
- Each exhibit must be made by the exhibitor in the current Fair year.
- Premiums will vary for type of Needlework. A premium list will be good for all the classes listed below it. When premiums change the list will be show prior to the class number.
