OPEN SHEEP SHOW

General Rules:
- Entry fee is $5.00 per animal per class and must accompany the entry form. Each exhibitor is limited to two (2) entries per class for any one breed. Entries close August 8th.
- Sheep can start arriving at 3:00 PM on Tuesday and must be in place by 7:00 PM. Sheep can depart Monday, Labor Day, at 6:00 PM. Pens must be cleaned before departure or premiums will be withheld.
- Premiums: A minimum of six (6) animals per breed/section entered will qualify for 100% of the listed premiums. Less than 6 animals per breed/section will be 50% of listed premiums.
- The Wyoming County Fair and their members will not be responsible for any accident of any kind or nature that may occur to any animal, person, or property. The exhibitors and spectators shall hold them harmless and indemnify them against any legal proceeding arising from any accident and/or damage. By submitting entries to the Wyoming County Fair, you agree to abide by these rules as well as any rules posted before or during the Fair.
- Any animal of unthrifty nature, unsuitable condition, or which cannot be satisfactorily handled under show conditions must be removed from the show grounds.
Identification:
Individual official animal identification is required for all sheep. Identification used for sheep must be permanently affixed to the individual animal. Official ID includes any of the following:

- A USDA ear tag with a US shield; which includes scrapie program tags (animals bearing identification with blue colored scrapie program tags labelled “meat” with a US shield are not permitted to be exhibited in PA – please call the Department at 717-783-6851 if such tag is encountered); or
- A legible tattoo with herd and individual identification recognized in an approval USDA Scrapie database a.k.a. a scrapie tattoo (flock ID in the right ear-state postal code and letters/numbers-and individual animal ID in the left ear); or
- A breed registration tattoo if the animals are accompanied by a registration certificate and the tattoo is legible.

- A Certificate of Veterinary Inspection (CVI) issued within 30 days of arrival is strongly recommended.
- All animals must be free of infectious and contagious diseases and a statement of this is required on the CVI.
- A current rabies vaccination administered by a licensed veterinarian is highly recommended for breeding animals 3 months of age and older.
BREEDING SHEEP

Rules:
- Sheep should have 1” or less of wool, unless they are a wool breed.
- A Pen of Lambs consists of two ram lambs and two ewe lambs.
- A Flock consists of one ram under 2 years; two ewes, one year to under 2 years; and two ewes under 1 year.
- Breeder’s Young Flock consists of one ram lamb and two ewe lambs. All bred and owned by the exhibitor.
- A Get of Sire shall consist of four breeding animals, any age or sex; the get of one sire. The get must be owned by the exhibitor.
- Ewe and offspring must be owned and bred by the exhibitor.
- Aged Ewe must be 5 years old and under.
- An animal must be shown in an individual class to be shown in a group class.
- All animals brought to the fairgrounds must be entered in class.

Rules:
- All market animals should be weighed on the same set of scales under a qualified weigh master at the discretion of the Fair.
- Exhibitors are limited to 2 entries per class.
- Weight class to be determined at weigh-in.
- Market lambs will be weighed in Tuesday upon arrival.
- All lambs will be mouthed and must have a full set of lamb teeth.

- Wool exhibited must be produced by the exhibitor who must have owned the sheep from which the wool was shorn.
- Entry fee is $3.00 per fleece.
- Each exhibitor is limited to 2 fleeces per class.
