The rules and/or regulations set forth herein are designed to provide for the orderly conduct of competition events and to establish minimum acceptable requirements for such events. These rules shall govern the condition of all events, and, by participation in these events, all participants are deemed to have complied with these rules. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRENTY OF SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM PUBLICATIONS OF OR COMPLIANCE WITH THESE RULES AND/OR REGULATIONS. They are intended as a guide for the conduct of the sport and are in no way a guarantee against injury or death to a participant, spectator, or official.
The event director shall be empowered to permit minor deviations from any of the specifications herein or impose any further restrictions that in his/her opinion do not alter the minimum acceptable requirements. NO EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED WARRENT OR SAFETY SHALL RESULT FROM SUCH ALTERATIONS OR SPECIFICATIONS. Any interpretation or deviation of these rules is left to the discretion of the officials. Their decisions are final.
- Driver must be 18 years old or 16 years old with signed consent from a parent or legal guardian. All drivers must have a valid driver’s license. Each vehicle may only be entered into competition one (1) time per event. Each driver may enter only one (1) time per class.
- All contestants at every event must sign a waiver understanding that they are competing at their own risk and that they will not bring suit against any official, employees, promoter, and/or property owner. By signing the release, you agree to all the rules set forth.
- The officials reserve the right to approve or reject any or all entry applications.
- Vehicles will be divided into three (3) separate divisions (2WD, 4WD, & Modified).
- ENTRIES CLOSE ONE (1) HOUR BEFORE SESSION IS SCHEDULED TO START.
- All vehicles must pass Tech inspection before competing. If presiding officials determine a vehicle is unsafe, officials have the right not to allow vehicle to compete. Vehicle does not need current inspection sticker, license, or insurance. Vehicle must be in the same physical condition as at the time it was last inspected for highway use. THE INSPECTION AREA CLOSES ONE (1) HOUR BEFORE SESSION IS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN.
- All drivers must attend driver’s meeting approximately ½ hour before the event starts.
- A vehicle cannot be registered after the driver’s meeting unless approved by track officials.
- A contestant may be disqualified for either emotional or physical reasons by competition director or track officials. Example: Recklessness, drinking alcoholic beverages. Any driver or any of his pit crew consuming an intoxicating agent, and or drugs, prior to or during the event, will be disqualified. Drivers are held responsible for the actions of their crew.
- If any vehicle and/or driver are disqualified for any reason, there will be NO REFUND OF ENTRY FEE or pit fee.
- Competition vehicles must be operated in a safe manner at all times within the confines of the track, pit area, and staging area. Track officials have the right to stop and disqualify any vehicle being operated in a reckless manner. Pit and staging areas – speed limit is 5 MPH.
- Competitors must wait for the Green Flag from the Starting Flagman before starting the run. Competitors must stop immediately upon signal of Red Flag from the Flagman.
- Only the driver will be allowed in a vehicle when it is being towed or driven in the pit area, staging area, or track. No riders in or on any vehicle while in the pit area, staging area, or track, to include tow vehicle, competing vehicles, tow back and maintenance equipment of any kind.
- WHEN COMPETITION VEHICLE’S ENGINE IS RUNNING, A COMPETENT DRIVER MUST BE IN THE DRIVER’S SEAT. No exceptions. Automatic disqualification!
- Track officials will have the option to check competitors for rule violations at any time during the event.
- All contestants must drive vehicle onto track and into position to compete under its own power and must leave track under its own power unless for breakage.
- No one is allowed on the track except for the track officials and contestants. Track is defined as the area within 15 feet in any direction of the contest boundaries, including the runoff area at the finish end of the track.
- Fuel: Pump gasoline only. All forms or nitro are illegal as a fuel or additive. Nitrous oxide or combustion accelerators are not permitted. Diesel fuel is permitted in diesel engines.
- All vehicles must be equipped with a 2 ½ lb. dry chemical fire extinguisher or 1 lb. halon extinguisher. Extinguishers must be fully charged, in working condition, and secured convenient to driver.
- Seat belts (both lap belts and shoulder strap) are required and must be worn.
- All vehicles must have a 4-wheel hydraulic brake system in good working condition. No individual wheel brakes allowed.
- All open body, removable, fiberglass or soft top vehicles must have at least a 6 point roll bar fastened directly or indirectly to the frame. Roll bars are highly recommended in all vehicles in competition.
- Driver must wear a DOT approved full-face helmet. Helmet strap must be fastened.
- Vehicles must have original firewall and floor in original location. Only holes allowed are those for brakes, clutch, transmission controls and wiring. No gas tanks, fuel lines, or batteries allowed in cab of vehicle unless factory installed. Approved fuel tank may be relocated in the bed of pick-up trucks. Must be securely mounted.
- Tires must have DOT approved number. Maximum tire height is 44 inches. OEM type wheels required, maximum wheel width is 10 inches. No cutting of tire tread allowed. Wheel weights must be removed before competing (non-tagged vehicles only).
- No loose objects in cab or any other place in vehicle.
- Engine must be in original location as intended by manufacturer. No rear engine vehicles, 4 cylinder and 6 cylinder engines can be installed in different brands of vehicles. V-8 engines must have been available from the factory for the year, make, and model of vehicle being used.
- Body, hood, bed, fenders, and wheelbase must meet OEM specifications. Flat beds must be Pennsylvania street legal.
- No engine modifications to increase horsepower are permitted.
- Headers and open exhaust permitted. Exhaust must exit under vehicle.
- Must be stock factory suspension, OEM replacement or equivalent. Dual shocks are permitted on front end to reduce breakage. Original front shock must remain mounted in original location, second front shock must be original equipment replacement or equivalent for the vehicle being used. Aftermarket life kits will be allowed. (Max lift of 4 inches) Length of suspension travel cannot be increased except to accommodate life kit. Rear shocks must be counted at original locations. All suspension components must be in good working condition. Racing suspension components will not be allowed.
- 4 wheel drive vehicles must compete in the 4WD class. Vehicles must be in 4 wheel drive when approaching the starting line. Vehicle must make the entire run through the course in 4 wheel drive.
- Non-licensed or non-tagged vehicles must have some form of safety strap to hold up front portion of drive shaft in case of failure and must be securely mounted. Chain or cable (minimum of ¼ inch), steel strapping, etc. will be allowed. Highly recommended on all vehicles.
- All vehicles must be equipped with fire extinguishers, neck braces and working seat belts.
- Officials can shut down competition at any time if the vehicle is unsafe for the driver or the track crew.
- Contest will be governed by track officials and Competition Director. All decision are final!
